Burney waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Redding Christian Lions get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Raiders have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mia Perez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexis Witzel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Alyssa Hawkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Burney's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Redding Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9-1.

Burney and Redding Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Raiders see the field they'll take on Plumas Charter at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Redding Christian, their break will end when they face Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st.
