Softball Recap: 12 Straight Road Wins for Ashwaubenon

Ashwaubenon won against Bay Port last Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Jaguars beat the West De Pere Phantoms by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Grace Aichele spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elly Kirst was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kahlee James was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Kirst wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ashwaubenon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Ashwaubenon pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for West De Pere, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashwaubenon will take on Manitowoc Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West De Pere, they will face off against Menasha at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
