Cedar Falls won the last time they faced Xavier and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Saints 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Cedar Falls pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Xavier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Saints beat Cedar Falls by a score of 5-1 later that day.
