Football Recap: Hanover Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hanover entered their contest against Cheyenne Wells on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hornets took a blow against the Tigers, falling 75-6. The Hornets lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 62-18 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Hanover lost, don't look at Thomas Griffin Jr.. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Griffin Jr. got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 51 yards.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-4. As for Cheyenne Wells, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanover will welcome Genoa-Hugo at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cheyenne Wells, they will be playing at home against Branson/Kim at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
