Volleyball Recap: Warrensburg Comes Up Short

Warrensburg saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the California Pintos. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Warrensburg was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22.

Kadence Fritsch paced Warrensburg's offense, picking up five kills. Fritsch got some help from Kyla Dunn and her 11 assists. Mallory Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Amelia Motley, who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last eight contests.

Warrensburg's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10-2. As for California, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-4 record this season.

Warrensburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Pleasant Hill on the 7th. As for California, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Cole Camp on the 6th.
