Basketball Game Preview: Ross Rams vs. Franklin Wildcats

Ross has won three straight games at home, while Franklin has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Ross Rams will be home for the holidays to greet the Franklin Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ross is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since January 6th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Brookville, sneaking past 52-49. The 52-point effort marked the Rams' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Franklin challenged Edgewood on Friday. Franklin enjoyed a cozy 58-40 win over Edgewood. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Cougars are ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin's win came from a few key players Ross will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kendol Roberts, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Clark, who put up eight points and ten rebounds.

Ross now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Ross and Franklin were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Ross came up empty-handed after a 49-48 loss. Can Ross avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
