Basketball Recap: Hoehne Skates Past Fowler with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoehne). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 66-39 win over the Fowler Grizzlies. The Farmers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 27 points or more this season.

Hoehne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alessa Cantoria, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Those 19 points gave Cantoria a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylah Crosson, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points.

Cantoria wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hoehne was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Hoehne and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Fowler, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Hoehne will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Monte Vista at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Monte Vista: 28.4, Hoehne: 27.7) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Fowler, they will take on Frontier Academy in a tournament on Thursday.
