Basketball Recap: New Hope Christian Academy Comes Up Short

New Hope Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vinton County Vikings. The Statesmen lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 81-57 score last time.

New Hope Christian Academy's record is now 13-5. As for Vinton County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hope Christian Academy will take on Wellington School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vinton County, they will face off against McClain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
