Basketball Game Preview: Central Valley Cougars vs. North Central Knights

The Central Valley Cougars will face off against the North Central Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Central Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Ansley/Litchfield and fell 55-53. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zaden Wolf, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Taesian Soto was another key player, going 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points.

Even though they lost, Central Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, North Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 72-49 loss courtesy of Elgin/Pope John. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
