Softball Recap: Burr & Burton Comes Up Short

Burr & Burton and Essex squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Burr & Burton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Burr & Burton's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Essex, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

While Burr & Burton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
