            Softball Recap: Sanger Apaches vs. Clovis East Timberwolves        
        
		
        
        
            Sanger was the  7-3 winner over Clovis East when they last played one another  back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Sanger fell just short of Clovis East by a score of  2-1 on Friday. The Apaches have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Emma Hernandez was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She  struck out 12 batters over  12 innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Those  12  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her eight plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  RBI.
 Hernandez wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Samantha Guerra, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-8. Guerra also  hit a  triple, marking her first of the season.
Sanger's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Clovis East,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-3-1.
 Coincidentally, Sanger and Clovis East will both be playing Clovis North the next time they take the field. Sanger will head out to face Clovis North at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday, while Clovis East will head out to face them  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
