Basketball Recap: Naugatuck Takes a Loss

Naugatuck was the 84-44 winner over Watertown when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Naugatuck Greyhounds took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Watertown Indians on Monday.

Watertown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher O'Toole, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 22 points and six boards. Johnathan Platt was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Naugatuck's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Watertown, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Naugatuck won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Berlin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Watertown, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Wolcott at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watertown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Wolcott likes a good challenge.
