Basketball Recap: Brockport Extends Winning Streak to Four

Brockport entered their tilt with Churchville-Chili on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Churchville-Chili Saints by a score of 52-45. While the Blue Devils didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Erin Marone, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 10 points and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Arianna Williams, who posted nine points and five boards.

Brockport's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Churchville-Chili, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Brockport will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Spencerport at 7:15 p.m. on January 24th. As for Churchville-Chili, they will host Eastridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eastridge will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Churchville-Chili surely won't give up without a fight.
