Volleyball Recap: Cedar Springs' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cedar Springs came into Wednesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the NorthPointe Christian Mustangs on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Red Hawks: when they faced off against the Mustangs last Wednesday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Cedar Springs easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14.

Taylor Gunderson paced Cedar Springs' offense, picking up nine kills. Gunderson got some help from Jessie Teesdale and her 20 assists. Mallory Page controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cedar Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-5-2. As for NorthPointe Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Cedar Springs and NorthPointe Christian will both be playing Ionia the next time they take the court. The Red Hawks will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 7:15 p.m.
