Basketball Recap: Gio Ramos' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Benedictine over Fairview

Benedictine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 83-75 to the Fairview Warriors. If the Bengals were looking for revenge after losing 68-54 to them when the teams met back in January of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Benedictine lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gio Ramos, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damone Darmond, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Benedictine was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Benedictine's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Fairview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Benedictine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-43 victory against Geneva on the 14th. As for Fairview, they have also already played their next game, a 72-63 win against Garrett Morgan on the 14th.
