Soccer Game Preview: Midland vs. San Angelo Central

The Midland Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the San Angelo Central Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland will be strutting in after a win while San Angelo Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Midland took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Odessa with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bronchos: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, San Angelo Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Permian. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by exactly two goals.

Midland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three matchups. As for San Angelo Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-2.

Midland took their win against San Angelo Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midland since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
