Baseball Recap: Prattville Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Prattville's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Briarwood Christian 9-8. Prattville has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Briarwood Christian, too.

Sean Smith and Dorsett Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Jackson scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Jackson a new career-high. Holt Stovall was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Prattville's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Briarwood Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Coincidentally, Prattville and Briarwood Christian will both be playing Calera the next time they take the field. Prattville will host Calera at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Briarwood Christian will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
