Baseball Recap: Cedar Crest Falcons vs. Ephrata Mountaineers
Cedar Crest extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They fell 8-5 to the Ephrata Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 on April 9th.
Cedar Crest got a good showing from Davin Kolter, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Kolter hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March.
At the plate, Mason Cevette made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
As for Ephrata, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

The Falcons are facing the Red Tornado at the right time seeing as the Red Tornado are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Ephrata, they will take on Hempfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Knights will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Mountaineers surely won't give up without a fight.
