Basketball Recap: Gateway Christian Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

If Floyd wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gateway Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Grady Munson. The Gateway Christian Warriors claimed a resounding 69-29 win over the Floyd Broncos for which the team can thank Munson, who went 8-for-13 en route to 22 points and six steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed five or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Floyd's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jimmy Lovato, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Lovato a new career-high in field goal percentage (57%). Issak Bustamante was another key player, putting up ten points.

Gateway Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. Floyd's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.

Coming up, Gateway Christian will take on Dora at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Dora sitting on five straight victories and Gateway Christian on three. Floyd does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
