Softball Recap: Regis Starts Season with Loss at Home

Regis unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 24-15 to the Turtle Lake/Clayton Lakers on Monday. If the Ramblers were looking for revenge after losing 11-10 to the Lakers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Adelle Schneider and Ashlee Dykes did some serious damage despite the final result: Schneider scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Dykes scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jacelin Jensen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

The win got Turtle Lake/Clayton back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Regis will take on Durand-Arkansaw at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Turtle Lake/Clayton, they will venture away from home to square off against Grantsburg at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th.
