Softball Recap: Westerville South Wildcats vs. Westland Cougars
Westerville South had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-14 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Westland Cougars by a score of 15-14. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 14-1.
Maci Minister made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Aubrey Paul was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
As for Westland, their win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-16. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

That's the most runs Harris has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Cochran, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two doubles.
Looking ahead, Westerville South will be playing in front of their home fans against Centerburg at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Westland, they will venture away from home to face off against Hayes at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pacers will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
