Putnam and Windham are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Clippers are taking a road trip to challenge the Whippets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Putnam has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Putnam is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against New London on Monday. They came up short against the Whalers, falling 11-0. The Clippers haven't had much luck with the Whalers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Parish Hill hit Windham with a five-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Whippets lost 14-4 to the Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Whippets have suffered against the Pirates since April 24, 2019.

Windham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Putnam, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Putnam was able to grind out a solid win over Windham in their previous meeting last Saturday, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
