Basketball Recap: Wilde Lake Takes a Loss

Wilde Lake was the 62-60 winner over Howard when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Wilde Lake Wildecats and the Howard Lions didn't end well, with the Wilde Lake Wildecats falling 73-54. The contest marked the Wildecats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Howard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Griffin Garner out in front who posted 21 points and five rebounds. Garner's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Josh Ademiju was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards.

Wilde Lake's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Howard, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

The future could be bright for both Wilde Lake and Howard: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Wilde Lake will try to hand Glenelg their third-straight defeat when the two meet on January 3, 2025. Meanwhile, Howard will try to hand Chesapeake their third-straight loss when the two meet at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
