Baseball Game Preview: Waubonsie Valley Warriors vs. Naperville North Huskies

The Waubonsie Valley Warriors will take on the Naperville North Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Waubonsie Valley will be strutting in after a win while Naperville North will be coming in after a loss.

Naperville North will be up against a hot Waubonsie Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Warriors came out on top against Glenbard East by a score of 8-4 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Naperville North was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of Benet Academy by a score of 2-1. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Naperville North got a good showing from Brandon Person, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Person a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, Naperville North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Madzinski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Trey Stade also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Waubonsie Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Naperville North, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Waubonsie Valley beat Naperville North 5-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
