Softball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Brandywine's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Brandywine's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 17-6 to the Newark Charter School Patriots. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Abigail McFarland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn O'Connor, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Brandywine's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Newark Charter School, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

While Brandywine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
