Softball Recap: Reeds Spring Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Reeds Spring ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Bakersfield Lions 11-10. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won three matches in a row.

Grace Johnson was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Grace Chastain also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Reeds Spring pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Bakersfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Reeds Spring will host Springfield Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bakersfield, they are taking a road trip to take on Winona at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
