Baseball Recap: Cookeville Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Henry County typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Cookeville proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Patriots 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jackson Jones tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three games.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ty Harrison, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Evan Allen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Cookeville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henry County only posted an OBP of .290.
