Worthington Kilbourne suffers tenth straight loss on the road

Recap: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. Westerville South Wildcats

After a string of five wins, the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Westerville South. Worthington Kilbourne has struggled against Westerville South recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Worthington Kilbourne had strong showings from Oliviah Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Reagan Wilkinson, who scored eight points along with four steals. Wilkerson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.

Westerville South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deziah Dupree, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Cirrye White, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Worthington Kilbourne's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-7. As for Westerville South, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Worthington Kilbourne will be playing at home against Olentangy Orange at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westerville South won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Unioto at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. Unioto knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Westerville South likes a good challenge.
