Football Game Preview: Forrest Rockets vs. Watertown Purple Tigers + How To Watch

Forrest and Watertown are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Rockets are taking a road trip to challenge the Purple Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forrest has given up an average of 27.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Forrest ended up a good deal behind Giles County and lost 46-28.

Despite the defeat, Forrest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Quincy Mitchell rushed for 186 yards and three scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 122 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Watertown didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty Creek on Friday and fell 25-22.

Forrest's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Forrest didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Watertown in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
