Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kinley Steinkamp and Aubrey Rycyzyn Lead Olympia to Victory

There's no place like home for Olympia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tremont Turks 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since September 12, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Olympia got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 12-25, 25-23.

Olympia was led to victory by Aubrey Rycyzyn and Kinley Steinkamp. Rycyzyn had 20 digs and two aces, while Steinkamp had ten digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Steinkamp a new career-high.

The win got Olympia back to even at 1-1. As for Tremont, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Olympia will challenge Warrensburg-Latham at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tremont, they will be taking part in a tournament against Meridian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
