Queensbury is a perfect 10-0 against Glens Falls since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartans will welcome the Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Queensbury comes in on seven and Glens Falls on three.
On Friday, Queensbury got the win against Broadalbin-Perth by a conclusive 16-5. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Tyler Dorvee was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Nathan Sheerer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Queensbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
While Glens Falls didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past Lake George 9-7.
The team relied heavily on Chace Davidson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Endieveri, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Queensbury's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Glens Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Queensbury has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Glens Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Queensbury came out on top in a nail-biter against Glens Falls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Black Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
