Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Mountaineers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Liberty Mountaineers and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Liberty is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Petersburg by a score of 63-51 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame didn't have too much trouble with Trinity Christian on Friday as they won 69-52. The Fighting Irish pushed the score to 59-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Liberty pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Notre Dame, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Liberty against Notre Dame when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 95-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
