Softball Recap: Prout Starts Season with Win Against East Greenwich

Prout had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the East Greenwich Avengers. That's more bragging rights for the Crusaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lucy Kaiser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Kaiser was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mia Boyajian was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prout will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Moses Brown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Prout's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for East Greenwich, they will face off against North Kingstown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
