Baseball Game Preview: Deerfield Academy Big Green vs. Cushing Academy Penguins

Deerfield Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cushing Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Big Green will be playing in front of their home fans against the Penguins at 2:00 p.m. Cushing Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Deerfield Academy, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Deerfield Academy made easy work of Rivers and carried off a 15-2 win.

Meanwhile, Cushing Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-0 to Pomfret School.

Deerfield Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.25 runs across that stretch. As for Cushing Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Deerfield Academy's way against Cushing Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Deerfield Academy made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Big Green repeat their success, or do the Penguins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
