Basketball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monticello Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Panthers are ranked 113th).

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Monticello, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.

While Benton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
