Softball Recap: Trinity Christian's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Trinity Christian won against Madonna last Saturday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Warriors walked away with a 7-2 win over the Magnolia Blue Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Blue Eagles back in April, they had to take a 10-6 loss.

Olivia Timperio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josalyn Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Arlie Humphreys was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

The victory (which was Trinity Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Magnolia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Trinity Christian beat the Blue Eagles by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday.
