West Union not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024. They blew past the Vardaman Rams 12-1. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Benton Burks made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jon Grey Morrisson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. David Roberts was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

West Union hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vardaman struck out 13 times.

West Union now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Vardaman, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

West Union will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vardaman: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
