Softball Game Preview: Borrego Springs Rams vs. Ocean View Christian Patriots

The Borrego Springs Rams will head out to square off against the Ocean View Christian Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Borrego Springs played against San Diego Academy on Friday and won via forfeit.

Ocean View Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Borrego Springs. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Chloe Adamos was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Abigail Pittman was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Ocean View Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win snapped Borrego Springs' losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-14 record. As for Ocean View Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Borrego Springs might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Ocean View Christian in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
