Pelion was the 2-1 winner over Landrum when they last played one another back in April of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Pelion Panthers fell just short of the Landrum Cardinals by a score of 7-6 on Monday. Pelion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Noah Pegues put in work no matter where he played. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Pegues was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Dodge Keaton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Pelion now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Landrum, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.
