Baseball Recap: Bellevue Comes Up Short

Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-4 to the Athens Indians, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Broncos have suffered against the Indians since April 16, 2019.

LJ Pierman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Denton, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Bellevue's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Athens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellevue will host Tekonsha at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Athens, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Litchfield at 10:00 a.m. The Indians are on a three-game streak of home losses, and the Terriers a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.
