Softball Game Preview: Leesville Road Pride vs. Athens Drive Jaguars

For the second straight game, Leesville Road will face off against Athens Drive. The Pride will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Leesville Road is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Athens Drive with a sharp 17-2 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pride considering their two-run performance the game before.

Bryanna Guilliams made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maya Schpero was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haleigh Windell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win got Leesville Road back to even at 4-4. As for Athens Drive, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
