Baseball Recap: Giles Comes Up Short

Giles's last matchup with Fort Chiswell could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 14-3 to the Pioneers. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost four in a row.

Giles saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Eppling, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Giles' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Fort Chiswell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Giles will be playing at home against Narrows at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Chiswell, they will face off against George Wythe at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
