Softball Recap: Ephrata Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lebanon on Monday, Ephrata came back down to earth. The Mountaineers fell just short of the Elizabethtown Bears by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mountaineers have suffered against the Bears since April 27, 2022.

Emma Zimmerman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Jordin Rojas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ephrata has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Elizabethtown, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Coming up, Ephrata will head out on the road to challenge Twin Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Elizabethtown, they will be playing at home against Hershey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
