Volleyball Recap: Marco Island Academy Takes Down Neumann in a Playoff Battle

Marco Island Academy extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Neumann. They blew past the Celtics 3-0. The Rays haven't had any issues with the Celtics recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Leading Marco Island Academy to victory were Cambree Grensing and Sophia Ogdin. Grensing had eight aces and seven digs, while Ogdin had 21 digs and four assists. Those eight aces gave Grensing a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Marco Island Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive matches.

Ivanna Karacosta and Hailey Scheffler certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Karacosta had seven digs and four assists, while Scheffler had eight digs and eight assists.

Marco Island Academy's record is now 21-6. As for Neumann, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 19-6.

Marco Island Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against First Baptist Academy on the 16th. As for Neumann, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Benjamin on the 21st.
