Juarez-Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Mission recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Juarez-Lincoln Huskies will be taking part in a tournament against the Mission Eagles at 9:00 a.m. Juarez-Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Juarez-Lincoln's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Palmview hitters got past them. Juarez-Lincoln lost 11-4 to Palmview on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Huskies have suffered since April 9, 2024.
Alexandra Marroquin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mission). They put the hurt on Los Fresnos with a sharp 18-3 win on Tuesday.
Maddie Garcia was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ilia Fiscal, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Mission always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .765. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Los Fresnos only posted an OBP of .353.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Juarez-Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both team's pitchers. Juarez-Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like Mission struggles in that department as they've hit 0 of their hits this season. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Juarez-Lincoln suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Mission in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Juarez-Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
