Football Recap: Rye Finds Playoff Glory Versus Minisink Valley + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Rye rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed past the Minisink Valley Warriors to the tune of 42-14. Considering the Garnets have won nine contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Rye's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Miller, who threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 45 yards. What's more, Miller racked up 160.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October. Charlie Garnett helped out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

The win keeps Rye at an undefeated 12-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 42.3 points this season. As for Minisink Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Coming up, Rye will challenge Cornwall Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons' defense has only allowed 8.1 points per game this season, so the Garnets' offense will have their work cut out for them. Minisink Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
