Preview: Bristow Pirates vs. Cleveland Tigers

Bristow and Cleveland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Bristow Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cleveland Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bristow's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Cleveland has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Bristow didn't have too much trouble with Perkins-Tryon at home as they won 62-46. Given Bristow's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Perkins-Tryon is ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bristow had a senior duo take command as Addi Alexander scored 22 points along with two steals and Shalyn Edmondson almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Alexander has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abby Morgan, who scored nine points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Cleveland had to suffer through a rough 72-29 loss at the hands of Mannford.

Bristow is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Cleveland, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Bristow against Cleveland in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 83-41 victory. Will Bristow repeat their success, or does Cleveland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
