Softball Recap: Mulberry Grove Wins Going Away Against Odin/Patoka/Sandoval

Mulberry Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Odin/Patoka/Sandoval on Friday. Mulberry Grove was the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over Odin/Patoka/Sandoval. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Aces considering their one-run performance the match before.

Lily Johnson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenni Mezo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lola Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Mulberry Grove now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
