Baseball Game Preview: Millry Wildcats vs. Coosa Christian Conquerors

Millry is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Coosa Christian is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Millry will welcome Coosa Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, Millry needed a bit of extra time to put away Washington County. They won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 2-1.

Meanwhile, Coosa Christian posted their closest win since May 3, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Victory Christian 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Conquerors in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Brody Nelson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Angelo Alberghina was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Dylan Edwards was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Coosa Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Millry, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
