Baseball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Auburn

Auburn made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Grafton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rockets blew past the Gators 8-1 on Thursday. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Bryce Everson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cameron McLaughlin was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kyle McLaughlin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Auburn's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn will face off against Leicester at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Grafton, they will challenge Ashland at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Gators are facing the Clockers at the right time seeing as the Clockers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
